The Music of Life
Relaxing and De-Stressing Through Jazz Music
Filed under: Music, Art & Culture

Recently, I have been quite interested in jazz music because it is very soothing and allows me to clear my mind at the end of a particularly stressful workday. I’ve also found that is helps me relax when I am driving in the midst of an irritating traffic jam or experiencing road rage. Although it is often hard for me to find the name of a song I hear on the radio to download for later listening, I am able to focus on enjoying the song for the moment.

I also listen to jazz music when I am doing yoga in the morning because it helps me really get into the mood and perform my best in order to prepare for the day ahead. During previous years, I had been a clarinet player and have since really grown to love the sound of a clarinet in a jazz piece. It reminds me of the times when I was in my high school’s band, and has led me to consider learning how to play some pieces of jazz music on my clarinet again. Overall, I feel that jazz music allows for my body and mind to be fully connected.

Wedding Music
Filed under: Music, Art & Culture

We often get involved with brides-to-be planning their weddings.  As mosts couples get married in a church, they often have to work with the church organ.  While we often see couples come in a bit disappointed with the organ choice, we realize that perception is rooted in a poor organ music choices church congregations often make and a lack of knowledge of some of the fine works of art - music - that were written especially for the organ.

Once we show them what a good organ can produce in terms of music for their wedding, they not only perk up, they absolutely beam. And we get such pleasure playing for weddings.  The march of the bridesmaids and the groom standing with his groomsmen at the alter.  The beautiful bride in all her wedding gown finery and veil.

Come visit with us if you need some glorious organ music selections for your wedding.

It’s Spring and the Robbins have returned
Filed under: Music, Art & Culture

It’s no surprise that I’m glad winter is done.  It’s stayed far too long this year and I am happy that spring has finally arrived.  So to have the Robbins with their beautiful musical songs.  Every morning as I sit at my desk I can look out my window and hear and see Robbins everywhere.

Robbins are not the only birds providing music in the spring.  The Cardinals who bravely winter over here in the Great Plains where I live chime in and so to the Sparrows, Finches, Meadow Larks and many other birds.

But it’s the Robbins who provide me the best Spring Music because when the Robbins come back each year I know winter is finished.
